The people behind the art

When we, here at Old World, were first introduced to Polish Pottery we discovered that we had hit gold.

The specific source area in Eastern Poland sports rich natural clay deposits that are pure and of extremely high quality. The clay in the region contains high levels of feldspar and silicon and after firing it is considered stoneware! How cool is that!

The real reason we pursued it is when our Jennifer was seeking cookware that didn't emit poison into our food. (She was very concerned about what cookware she uses to feed her family.) Polish Pottery was the answer she was seeking! Polish Pottery is entirely lead-free and cadmium-free. You can use it in the kitchen for food prep without worrying about a negative affect on your family.

Pottery has been made in this particular region of Poland for hundreds of years and the artists in the region have perfected their art.

We’re simply enjoying the excellent quality and art they have perfected. Behind every piece is a life. A purpose. An artist. (Polish Designer, Maria Starzyk designed the plate shown above. She likes to get her designs from nature.)
